This project provides political decision-makers with information highlighting the importance of sustainable ecosystem management, while opening up a new field of city planning based on social and ecological criteria. For Tele Botanica, this project will leverage contribution from the civic network and pursue an innovative research approach based on participation. The group’s work emerged from a historical observation that, starting in the 1960s, Montpellier experienced population growth inducing exceptional urban development. Models of city expansion quickly reached certain limits.
