LexArt focuses on studying artistic vocabulary used in the Northern Alps, as it developed in the XVIIth century and transformed in the first half of the XVIIIth century, in works describing art published in French, German, Dutch, English, and Latin from 1600 to 1750. The goal of the LexArt project is to show how the scholar’s Europe tends to shape a language that is common to the overall Republic of the Arts. LexArt will complete its work by creating a digital tool that offers the scientific community an innovative resource enabling people to perform complex documentary research.
